Pro Tip from fellow Aggies: Most students who start with an eScooter end up upgrading to a moped within a year because they want more speed and better parking. We never see folks wanting to trade in their Moped for an eScooter.

What about riding in the Rain?

Bryan / College Station weather doesn’t mess around — sudden Texas downpours are just part of life here. So if you want to ride rain or shine, this is one of the biggest differences between a moped and an eScooter.

Mopeds (and traditional motor scooters) are built like little tanks for real-world weather. They’re designed to handle rain, puddles, and humid Texas summers without skipping a beat. You’ll see mopeds used as everyday transportation all over the world in rainy climates — because they just keep going. A simple cover keeps them looking sharp, but even if you forget and leave it out in a storm? No big deal.

eScooters, on the other hand, are more sensitive. They’re great for dry days, but they’re not built to handle heavy water exposure. Riding through a puddle or getting caught in a serious rain can let water reach the battery, controller, or motor — and that often means expensive repairs… or a completely dead scooter. Sometimes it’s fixable. Sometimes it’s not.

Bottom line:

If you want reliable transportation no matter what the sky decides to do, we strongly recommend a moped or motor scooter. You’ll stay more safe, more confident, and avoid those surprise repair bills after a pop-up thunderstorm.

On-Campus Parking

Everyone knows the struggle: paying hundreds for a parking pass & still drenched in sweat, walking forever from your spot to class.

eScooters → Can get heavy and awkward, but these can be loaded in the back of a car or truck, then unloaded and ridden across campus.

Gas vs Electric

eScooters are the ultimate in convenience — plug it in overnight and you’re ready to roll.

Gas mopeds give you longer range and faster speeds, but students sometimes worry about maintenance. Don’t stress — we’ve got you covered. Our Summer & Winter Storage service drains the fuel, preps the battery, and keeps your moped in better shape than when you left it.

eScooters are the budget-friendly entry point. Perfect if you’re only here for a semester or two and want maximum savings right now. Resale is nil though, expect to get 10% of your initial purchase back when you resell.
